GROUP LESSONS AT FAIRWINDS FARM: Monday through Friday beginning at 4:30 and all day Saturday and Sunday.

OUR FACILITY: Our indoor ring is the first of its kind on the East Coast!  This innovative structure, called "Cover All" has many advantages for riding; first and foremost, the amazing natural light it affords. It's like riding outdoors - no lights are ever needed during daylight hours, and it only requires six lights at night - and best of all, we built it ourselves! Our lighted outdoor ring is 100' by 200'.

GROUP SIZE: A group lesson consists of 6 or less students. Semi-private and private lessons are given for adults and homeschoolers on weekdays.

LENGTH OF SESSION: Lessons are held in 8 week sessions, 1 hr./week, at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. If you have taken lessons previously, the instructor will decide at which level to place you. There are separate classes for children and adults. After the first 8 week session, you will continue in the same time slot.

HOURS: Three group lessons are held each Monday through Friday, beginning at 4:30 p.m.. Weekend group lessons are held each Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Students must arrive a half hour early to groom and tack their horses. (For instance: a 4:30 p.m. lesson begins at 4:00 p.m.) Private and semi-private lessons (adults and home-schoolers) are available on weekdays only. .

PAYMENT: Group 8 week sessions are $256. ($32/hr.if paid for all eight weeks up front; $35/hr. if paid weekly) second child pays $30/hr.) Semi-private lessons are $40/hr and private are $45/hr.

ATTIRE: A hard-soled shoe or boot with a small heel is required. A riding helmet must also be purchased before the first lesson. Helmets can be found at any tack shop. Long pants are required. The indoor arena is not heated, so dress appropriately.

CANCELLATIONS: Twenty-four hours notice must be given if the student cannot attend a lesson (except in an emergency). If the student calls, the money for that lesson may either be credited to the next session’s fees, or money for that week will be refunded. Make-up lessons are sometimes offered depending on availability. If the student does not call, no deductions, credits or make-ups will be offered. The STUDENT PAGE will post if a lesson is cancelled due to weather or events.

STUDENT SHOWS: Horse shows are held 2 times yearly exclusively for Fairwinds students to demonstrate their skills and win ribbons. More advanced students may also enter our public shows throughout the year.

TRAIL RIDING: At various times during your lessons you may go on trail rides on our trail at Fairwinds, or jumping on our cross-country jump course. This is a great way to learn cross country riding! Interested in just taking a trail ride? Sign up for a TRAIL RIDE.
